Although there are many different places on my bucket list, I would have to say that the one area of the world that leads all of the others is Denver, Colorado. I’m not sure if it is the beauty of the mountains, the crispness of the air in the wintertime or the fact that you can breathe deeply at the high-altitude, it just seems to have everything that you could possibly want. Of course, I am also leaning toward living in Denver more than any other city because I love to ski.
One of the first things that you will recognize about Denver Colorado is the fact that it is an area full of diversity. If you want to spend some time in the city shopping and being around a lot of people, you will be able to do it in great measure. You can even venture out into some of the surrounding area to enjoy the suburbs as well. Within a few minutes, however, you can put the city behind you and head out toward the mountains and all of the beauty they have to offer.
If you’re into outdoor adventures, the mountains near Denver are going to offer it in great abundance. In the wintertime, you can enjoy some of the greatest skiing that the world has to offer. During the warmer months, you can try hiking, bicycling or even fishing in the Rockies. It is sure to be a memorable vacation and perhaps even the beginning of a long-term stay, once you get bitten by the Denver bug. Of course, the mountains are only one of the many benefits that the area has to offer. You will have years of exploring ahead of you.
Although Denver is a beautiful place to visit, there is one thing you should be aware of if you aren’t accustomed to higher altitudes. Some people may have a difficulty breathing when they first get to Denver but you will acclimate within just a few days. This type of altitude sickness is common and although you would want to take it easy at first, it will pass without too much of a problem. Make sure that you stick around long enough to enjoy it and before you know it, Denver will be a city that you will want to visit over and over again. It may even move to the top of your bucket list!
